Reflecting on my district   I believe that I was able to learn many thing about my district. Sabana Sur is a really big district and have a loving community of people. Although I haven’t lived a long time on this district I have been able to create many memories with my family and friends. With this blog I have been able to learn many new things that I didn’t knew about this wonderful place, I feel very lucky to live here.     This is a photo of the metropolitan park. Reflecting on this blog  This was my first time doing a blog  and I really think it was an experience since I was able to learn many things about the subject I was reporting, I learned to use new tools and websites.  This project was really something unique as it was out of what I was used to and I really enjoyed that.  My opinion about a doing a blog is that it is difficult to make a blog and it takes a long time but seeing the final results is very satisfying because I fe...

This district have incredible sunsets!

Image
In this occasion I interviewed a couple of 75 years, they have been living many years in this neighborhood.   First, I started asking her why did they moved here. They said that they moved here because they loves nature and the good vibes that this district gives her. Then, I asked them what the district was like when they first came and which was their her first memory of this place. The answer that this neighbor gave me I think that is really special because they said me that they were recently married and that they wanted to change the place that they were living. They said they were fascinated with the sunsets, in the time that have been living I am in love with all the sunsets that I seen here. At first they said that it was really difficult to talk with the other neighbors because they were new and they didn’t know anyone from that place, that it was a completely a new environment, then they mentioned that passing the years they gradually integrated into the place and ...

Public activities here, Mata Redonda district is incredible!

Image
In this post I want to write about public activities and how my family support the district of Mata Redonda and San José canton. In my case, my family support the services provided by my district by paying all the taxes and fees at time. Something that I want to mention is that any of us can help in our district even with small things like grabbing a garbage that you find in the floor, respecting the schedules in which they provide some services and paying your taxes at time. This type of actions can really help to the district! Before the pandemic the district really had many activities that people could do as a family, some examples are: Kayaking on the lake, having a family time, doing picnics with our friends or even having a tour in the Costa Rican Art Museum. This activities are just a few that we can do, there are many of them that we can enjoy in family. Before pandemic we liked to go to the public activities that the district make but for covid we stopped going because w...

First of all, I want to start including some facts about Mata Redonda district and San José canton. This district was created in December 1948. Mata Redonda was declared an “international zone” for the construction of the International Airport in 1948. The postal code of this zone is 10108. In 1962 Mata Redonda was the least populated district and it was full of coffe farms, but Manuel Antonio Chapuí donated those lands for people to live there. Nevertheless that didn’t work because according to Cleto Gonzáles Víquez the administration of those lands was really messy at the moment.  Did you know that there was another National Stadium? Yes! There was another stadium that stadium was inaugurated in 1924 but it was demolished and replaced for a new stadium (the actual stadium). The actual Costa Rican stadium, was donated by Chinese Popular Republic. The construction started in 2008 and it was inaugurated in 2011. The current ruling party of the canton is “Partido Liberación Nacional”...
